Valley Healthcare System becomes first federally qualified health center in the country to offer an OnMed CareStation
Columbus, Ga. (CARESOURCE) – CareSource, a nationally recognized nonprofit health plan serving more than 440,000 Georgians, announced a strategic collaboration with OnMed, the industry’s leading tech-enabled health equity solution, to bring its state-of-the-art hybrid care model to Columbus, Georgia. The OnMed CareStation is available to the public at the Valley Healthcare System facility, a federally qualified health center (FQHC) that provides care to medically underserved areas.
Made possible by CareSource’s $180,000 investment, this contribution aims to revolutionize health care access for underserved communities by offering immediate, on-demand care through the OnMed CareStation. The CareStation is a self-contained medical unit that provides on-demand quality health care from certified providers.
“The addition of an OnMed CareStation to our multi-specialty health system makes Valley Healthcare the first FQHC in the nation to offer a hybrid care solution such as this,” said Dr. Asante Hilts, CEO Valley Healthcare System. “The OnMed CareStation will allow us to significantly enhance access and intake capacity to better serve patients with equitable and affordable care.”
The OnMed CareStation, featuring advanced medical diagnostic tools and real-time video consultations, will empower patients at Valley Healthcare to receive medical care without leaving their local community. The station features comprehensive real-time diagnostics, including blood pressure, temperature and oxygen levels, immediate e-prescriptions and multi-language support.

- Immediate Access to Care: Patients can connect instantly with health care professionals for consultations, reducing wait times and expanding access to medical advice and treatment.
- On-Site Diagnostics: The CareStation includes various diagnostic tools to monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen saturation.
- Privacy and Security: Designed with patient confidentiality in mind, the CareStation provides a safe, secure and private environment for consultations.
- E-Prescriptions and Treatment Plans: Licensed clinicians provide immediate treatment plans, over-the-counter recommendations or e-prescribe to the most convenient pharmacy.
